What is the most interesting thing to shop in the Cambodia country? Where the tourist can find those things?
As I have known, almost foreigners come to tour Cambodia, they have never forgotten to go to the Russian Market or Toul Tom Pong Market which is the special place for go shopping.
What can the tourist buy at there?
Russian Market is the favorite place that contains many Khmer things for sell such as Khmer Silk, scarf, Khmer scarf, Kroma Khmer, furniture made by Khmer wood, T-Shirt the statutes of Buddhist and so on.
There many tourists go shopping there. As I used to sell the furniture in Russian market, I introduced the good quality of the furniture that made by Khmer wood such as Neag Nurn, Berng, Srolov etc to the customers. Such of those wood are attracted to the customer even Khmer or foreigners.
Most of them buy in the standard price and best quality of produce. If they find out it’s not good when they take with them, they can as for change or repair it for free.
On the other hand, Khmer Silk is very nice to the tourists because it’s soft and design as the Khmer style which is looked so beautiful. There are two kinds of Khmer silk, the first one is the old silk which are made many year ago and the second type are made in nowadays.
The quality is the same, just different price. Moreover, some customers are interested in souvenir such as spoon, wood chopstick, lamp, pictures etc. Most of them are cheaper than silk and furniture and really attract the tourist as well.
Beside those things, you can buy clothes which are made by the factory workers in Cambodia especially jeans and shirt. Clothes are also drawn the rate of people go shopping there. It has many styles, sizes, and cheap.
T-shirt is only 3$ to 5$ and jean only 10$ to 15$. There are many stores that the customers can choose which styles they like. In Russian market, you can choose as much as you like with a lot of kinds they sell.
Jewelries assist a lot of different style which made by Khmer people such as ring, earring, necklace that made by silver, stone, sulfur, and so on. The style is update every month which easy for the customer to choose and the price is suitable depends on how the customers deal with seller.
Most of jewelries are cheap, but some are expensive especially the one that made by silver.
Some foreigners are preferred go shopping at Central Market more than Russian Market. There are many things that they can buy the same as Russian Market, but the price is a little bit different. There have no furniture made by wood sell at Central Market, most of them are souvenir.
As I recommend, Russian market is the best place for shopping Khmer produce and the price are acceptable to the costumers even Khmer or Foreigners.
